So, for my yearly visit to the wonderful state of Maryland, the home of my friend Sul, I went to the Maryland Renaissance Festival.
Sul and I had a list of goals to accomplish while we attended the festival. The first of which was to obtain a drinking device (ie. a goblet or tankard or mug). We actually found this to be quite a feat since most of the devices we found were either too expensive or not really what I wanted out of my cup. We searched many shops only finding a couple that actually had cups in them. These shops so far only had wooden cups at prices upwards of 100$ a mug, now don’t get me wrong these mugs were beautiful works of art made of many different types of exotic woods. I just wasn’t looking for a work of art to drink out of, I wanted a crude manly drinking cup. Then we came upon the shop labeled “Master of Cups” and I thought, “Finally! I found the shop I’m looking for.” I couldn’t have been more correct. The man was selling 2 types of metal cups. One a smaller pint tankard, and the other a man’s sized tankard. I took one look at the big tankard, checked the price and told the man , “I’ll take it!” And then the first goal of the list was accomplished.
Pretty much after that we got lots of beer and meade and hard cider and got drunk and threw throwing stars at wood and played music on a very fascinating instrument. I also purchased a really really nice belt custom sized to me for only 25 dollars. Over all there was much merriment to be had.
At the end of the day we were very drunk and extremely full of Merriment. I even sang way too much on the car ride back to Sul’s house. Overall a very great day.
